Senses of Faith by Jessica M.
Dear Friend, We all know we have five senses...sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. These five senses help us navigate the PHYSICAL world around us. Our senses were created for the purpose of operating this earth suit we call a body. When something happens to us it’s our senses that keep us alert and oriented in order to respond appropriately. We are three part beings made up of a spirit, soul, and body. Many times if we have not allowed our minds to be renewed we will allow our earth suit(body) run the show. The fruit of this can be seen in our actions and heard in the words we speak. As believers, we must remember that this world is not our home! (Philippians 3:20) Our citizenship is in Heaven and we must operate accordingly. When we are firm in this, our five senses will no longer be able to move us off the promises of God. Faith defined according to Hebrews 11:1 speaks directly to the spirit man and bypasses the soul and the body! It is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. You are hoping for something and standing firm on evidence of things you can’t even see! To our five senses it doesn’t make sense. But in the Kingdom it’s the force that changes everything! Let us be remind today that we cannot be moved by what goes on around us. Our emotions are made to respond to this carnal world. Emotions weren’t made to handle the supernatural. That’s why whenever the supernatural occurs in the Earth it’s mind blowing, and basically scrambles our senses. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you be more sensitive to the supernatural Kingdom of God. And when this occurs you’ll notice how your senses will have less control on how you respond to situations around you. There will be a peace that’s present because you know that the King of Kings has it all under His control! Thankful for His super on my natural... Jess
