It Won't Be Like This Always...
Dear Friend, Back in 2001, I was a freshman in college, out of state and starting life (somewhat...) independently on my own. And a few weeks into the Fall semester, on the morning of September 11th around 8:30 a.m. I came back to my dorm room after a cancelled lab class. As I turned on the tv,hysteria and uncertainty scrolled across the screen and the faces of everyone reporting. Breaking news and images of burning towers in NYC were on every local station. By noon, the campus was flooded with fear and belief that for some military reason our city could be a target for another attack. It was out of my control. I was miles from home without any family to run to. So unlike others I had to stay on campus. I remember the peace I felt because at the end of the day there was nothing could do but trust God! I remember how people felt in the moment and many years after. But after it was all said and done... we are still here! As a nation we overcame. Was it trying...YES! Were people afraid of the unknown...YES! Did it seem as if all hope and security was shattered in areas where it had been faithfully established...YES!!! Our entire nation was on high alert and looking over our shoulders. Traveling internationally and domestically would be forever changed. But we adjusted and it was only for but a moment! So even in this that we see on a global scale today, let me encourage you as I encourage myself...(say it with me) Joy comes in the morning! ...Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning. Psalm 30:5 God will get the Glory out of this too! Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later. Romans 8:18 We ain’t seen nothing yet! Stand in Faith. Let’s not be moved by what we see. And let stand and trust God like never before! It’s shifted in favor, Jess
