No Doubt

Dear Friend,

When we take a look at the root or the origin of anything, we tend to find the core of its being and meaning. We are able to find the why behind the what. It is no different when we take a look at the root of the words we use so casually (at times) each and every day! Words have power and convey meaning that paints a picture that is almost impossible to erase! (Proverbs 18:21)

Let us take a look at the word doubt. Can you think of any other word that starts with this same root “doub”...the word double may have came to mind. These two words can be traced back to the same Latin root dubitare. This root means to question, waiver, and to be confused! And double goes on to translate into two. And in relation to thoughts being double minded or of two minds.

James 1:6-8

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.

In this scripture both words doubt and double are used to paint the picture of the futility of doubt and double mindedness!

Let’s make the decision to abandon and release ourselves from the instability of walking in doubt. For this is the source of hesitation and wavering! We must long for the truth and stand firmly planted in the peace of His Word!

We have to ask the Holy Spirit to help us identify ANYTIME that we find ourselves torn between believing Him or the world! It’s Kingdom! Let us operate in the God kind of Faith (Mark 11:22) and overcome in every area of our lives through the Power of Jesus Christ and help of the Holy Spirit!

Love,

Jess
