He Hears Us
Dear Friends,
This devotional came to me recently while watching “Dr. Seuss, Horton Hears a Who!” In the movie an elephant named “Horton”, hears a cry from a speck of dust floating through the air, as it passes by his ear. On this speck of dust lived a tiny microscopic town called, “Whoville.”
Although, no one else heard the cry of the people, Horton did! Horton then made it his mission to protect this town from trouble. He was intentional to the cry of the mayor to get his people to a place of safety.
This gave me a visual of what it looks like when we cry out to God. It doesn’t matter if anyone else hears our cries, we can trust that God has! He then goes into action to rescue us from everything that is troubling us. You don’t have to believe me, you can read it for yourself.
Psalms 34:17 TPT, “Yet when holy lovers of God cry out to him with all their hearts, the Lord will hear them and come to rescue them from all their troubles.”
I found a message trailer for Horton Hears a Who, and I would like to share the message with you. I pray it imparts into each of you continual comfort in knowing that our God, cares this much for each of you.
Please sit down and sit very still, and this this thought for a while if you will. Imagine a dust speck flying through space And on it are people, every size, color and race. Billions of people with hopes, dreams, and fears Forging their way through blood, sweat, and tears. And though many folks seem to do it so well Others are starving, despairing, or blue. Now imagine someone else, quite large and quite good Beyond ordinary measures of size, if you would.
With the power to see and the power to help And the power to hear their faint cries of yelp. Will he come near to them in their time of need? No need to fear he will help them indeed! He will rescue those people and that’s not all For to Him…a person is a person no matter how small.
Trusting that He Answers,
C Rose
