There is a Reward...
Dear Friends,
Do you trust God enough to obey Him, even when you don’t understand what He is requiring of you? Do you find it easier to obey, when you understand why He is asking you do something? If He tells you to leave the job, walk away from the friendship, let your children go, sow those last few dollars, would you? Are you still willing to be obedient when your preference is otherwise?
I had been working on promotion paperwork, to which no one, but those in authority knew about it. I started requesting documentation from employee’s. Several had questions about why, but I wasn’t privy to disclose the information. So, with hesitancy and lots of chatter in the office most of them submitted the paperwork requested. However, there was one who was willing to submit all the paperwork, with the exception of one paper. His rational was he had already signed this several years ago when he was first hired. Without this documentation signed, he would NOT receive the increase that would be available to him. I couldn’t share those details, but I knew those details. I encourage in every way possible for them to just resign it, but was instructed to no longer ask.
This was a place conviction for me. I had envisioned God being right there ready to reward my obedience, but I consulted with my flesh and missed it. Disobedience is a form of pride, and God is not in it. Proverbs 29:23 NIV, “Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.” He has a bigger blessing in store for us, but we must be willing to obey. I started to think about the numerous blessings missed out on by His children, because our disobedience voided it. Needless to say, I quickly stopped in that moment, and began to repent for every act of disobedience that I could remember. May, I encourage you to do the same. Repentance is a Reset. I did an about face in the Spirit.
I decreed from that day forward, that no matter how hard it may be even if my flesh is kicking and screaming, obedience will no longer be optional. I refuse to allow disobedience to deny me or delay me any longer.
Isaiah 1:19 NIV, “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land.”
My Obedience Matters to God,
