Sow What?
Dear Friend,
As a child do you ever remember blowing the fluff off of the dandelion? Watching each seed get caught be the wind and going it’s own direction. Or maybe you’ve seen the winged seeds of the maple tree. These fall from the trees like mini helicopters as they plummet to Earth. Although each of these seeds look very different, they have one thing in common just like all seeds do...they’re created to produce! From the beginning when God declared it in Genesis 1:11:
Then God said, “Let the land sprout with vegetation—every sort of seed-bearing plant, and trees that grow seed-bearing fruit. These seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came.” And that is what happened.
Do you realize that He created them intentionally to do what they’re supposed to do no matter the situation? Look at the dandelion, its seeds are dispersed as winds blows against. Yet light at the top it’s weighted at the bottom and will always hit the ground seed first. This is also the same for the winged seed. No matter how much it circles round and round it will always hit the ground seed first! Well, what if the seed is eaten, and looks like it will be destroyed? Even if it’s in droppings, when the seed hit the ground it still produces. (See Romans 8:28)
Let us be encouraged today! The seed you release into fertile ground with a cheerful heart will produce! This could be (but not limited to) sowing love, money, time, service, the seed of His Word into your life and others. But whatever you do KNOW this...it’s going to produce! Every seed that is planted will produce after its own kind and there will be a harvest.
Genesis 8:22, As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.
Keep sowing (see Luke 6:38) and don’t give up! A seed knows what it do. He programmed that way! The seed works!
Just keep sowing,
Jess
