Real-Time Relationship
Good Morning Ladies (and few gents),
Today’s devotion included below “Real-Time Relationship” is a reminder from GiG Elisa that, “When we live according to God’s design, we get to experience a whole lot less drama, along with the blessings that come from real-time relationships restored by His love and extravagant grace.”
GiG Elisa’s devotion triggered thoughts about teamwork I’ve been challenged with lately. When we have the humility to submit to a team captain or follow a leader’s directions or orders is one thing. At least we know she or he is the boss. This individual has clearly designated authority. However, working together with the rest of the team, people who are more or less on equal footing as us—can present special challenges. Yes, certain individuals can be particularly trying.
The truth is, we naturally clash with some personality types, especially if they try to boss us around or insist on doing things their way—which, as far as we can see, is the wrong way. OUCH or Amen! Yet, without a team working efficiently together, getting along, with each member doing her or his, the job won’t get done well, on time—or even at all. If this is how it is in the workforce, how much more important is this in the Body of Christ?
So all the Israelites were completely united, and they gathered together to attack the town. Judges 20:11 NLT
Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do. Philippians 3:17 NIV
And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Ephesians 5:21 NLT
GiG, it’s mandatory that each part of a body do its designated task, not working cross-purposes to the rest of the members. Otherwise God’s purposes won’t be accomplished, and we’ve played right into Satan’s hands. OUCH!
May we be encouraged to embrace unity, humility, and mutual respect because they’re essential when working together.
Embracing,
