The Me I Want to Be!
Good Morning Ladies (and few gents),
Today’s devotion included below “The Me I Want To Be” is a reminder from GiG Gwen that, “If we want all of the power God has for us, we need to rely on His Spirit and look to Him as our helper, comforter, advocate, and counselor who leads us in all truth…Ultimately, when we walk in the Spirit, our life will echo the characteristics of Jesus. We will bear the fruit of His Spirit and choose responses, thoughts, and attitudes that exemplify the power of God at work in and through us.”
GiG, need I say any more? Probably not, but I will any way.
Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit. 3 John 2 NLT
In this scripture I reference today John shows concern for Gaius’s physical and spiritual well-being. This was the opposite of the popular heresy of the time that taught the separation of spirit and matter and despised the physical side of life. And today, many people still fall into this way of thinking.
GiG, this non-Christian attitude logically leads to one of two responses: neglect of the body and physical health, or indulgence of the body’s sinful desires. Oh, but don’t get it twisted; God is concerned for both our body and our soul. So as responsible Christians we should neither neglect nor indulge ourselves, but care for our physical needs and discipline our body so that we are at our best for God’s service.
Here’s a truth gem, precious and relevant to recognize; God has spoken success, joy and goodness over us since the day we were born.
The bottom line—every day that we choose to walk with God is a day He will use to help us become who He created us to be, because He wants us to prosper in all that we do. Yup, live a life of limits not limitlessness. If it takes reminding ourselves often then we do so. Jesus demonstrated limits and He was God in the flesh. He didn’t heal everyone in Palestine nor feed all the poor and he yet could have. We’re not God so in our humanity we must exercise limits!
May we be encouraged to walk toward God in confidence today, knowing He has a plan for us — one that’s far greater than we could ever imagine. Open up our hearts and let Him increase in us!
God’s Got It…so we can TRUST— Boundaries represent awareness, knowing what the limits are and then respecting those limits. David W. Earle
