Power Packed Words

Dear Friend, Words are power packed letters that come together to create for the one who speaks them. In order to communicate clearly, our words must be used wisely. You can add or take away prefixes and suffixes to the root word to change a word’s meaning. Whenever you add -er to the end of verb it changes the word to a noun meaning ‘the person doing something.’ I was reflecting on how many times I use my words. For example, I can help someone...but in reality I’m a helper. Or you can lead in a situation...but when you take ownership of who you really are you should say I am a leader. I can be full of zeal and eager to do just about anything. This can be a good thing when getting started but I must follow through to the end.But anytime I haven’t followed through, this pattern has left me in the cycle of being a great starter only to stop at that point. This year our ministry has grabbed hold of the scripture Philippians 3:13-14 and we declare that we are finishers! No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. For far too long I’ve stopped at the word finish. But now I’m taking ownership and saying, “I AM A FINISHER!” I don’t just give one time, because I am a giver. I don’t just sow seed one time because I’m a sower. I don’t just ‘do’ the Word one time because I am a doer of the Word! Today ask the Holy Spirit to show you anywhere you have stopped at the verbs and simply said one time act is enough. God loves us and longs for us to know who he has created us to be and to walk in it! Using my words wisely. Jess
