Shalom
Dear Friends,
Shalom to each of you! Shalom is the Hebrew word for “peace”, but Shalom has a deeper meaning. Let’s dig a little dipper in Shalom (peace). So that when we see the word “peace” in the bible we will have a better understanding of what that “peace”entails in the light of Shalom.
According to Strong's Concordance 7965 Shalom means completeness, wholeness, health, peace, welfare, safety soundness, tranquility, prosperity, perfectness, fullness, rest, harmony, the absence of agitation or discord. Shalom comes from the root verb shalom meaning to be complete, perfect and full. In Modern Hebrew the obviously related word Shelem means to pay for, and Shulam means to be fully paid.
Often we look for this in people, places, and things, but true Shalom comes from a relationship with Yahweh (God). He is manifestation of Shalom!! He is the true fulfillment in our life. Material things, possession, titles, vacations, marriage, children, and relationships will only temporarily satisfy the holes that have been left in our souls. We must tap into His wholeness, so that the holes of our souls become whole, and complete.
Shalom doesn’t mean that we will be absent of trials and tribulations, but Shalom does come with the promise of rest during those times.
John 16:33 says, “I have told you these things so that in me you might have PEACE. In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome this world.
Lord, we decree and declare YOUR Shalom over our lives. We declare that we are complete, whole, perfected, operating in your fullness, basking in your rest, flowing in prosperity, and free from agitation in our lives. Holy Spirit show us areas that we aren’t allowing your Shalom (peace) to operate, and give us the wisdom to repent and receive Shalom in every area of our lives. Jehovah Shalom we receive you!
Shalom,
Chanda Rose
