Just in time...
Dear Friend, It’s Sunday afternoon and I’m driving from church. When I left for church this morning, I knew I had enough gas to get me to Pine Bluff (one hour away). This morning had already been a little hectic the boys were moving slow, they couldn’t find their shoes, it seemed like we hadn’t even prepared for anything the night before. To be honest I was fighting being frustrated. After church, and on the way home, I became preoccupied with all different thoughts in my head. I do remember looking up at the gas, reminding myself that I needed to get gas, but I just wanted to get home. I was headed for much needed time in my prayer closet. As I get about one (1) mile from home, my car goes dead. I look up and shake my head, I’ve just run out of gas. As I am in the middle of the road, I look at Josiah and say, “You are going to have to push the car!” At the same time I’m thinking of who I can call? As we are moving the car out the way, there is a truck coming in the opposite direction. He immediately gets out and helps. He is just in time, and I mean just in time. Without any hesitation the man, offers to get gas and make sure we get back on the road. He wasn’t concerned about his day, he was full of compassion. He said, l’ve been stranded before. The compassion of this stranger was overwhelming filled with love. As I thanked him I got back in my car and I started crying. I was about to start whining about the situation and the Lord reminded me, “ I will never leave you or forsake you.” As a matter of fact the full scripture says in Deuteronomy 31:6, “6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” and then the second thing he reminded me was, that he had the power to make my mistakes prosper (Proverbs 28:13). James (the man who pulled over) and I may have needed to meet. He was a pediatric doctor at children’s we shared with him our story about sickle cell. I don’t know how God will use it, but I know He will. And I know that He sent James just in time....never forget God is always on time! From a different perspective, LMJ
