When you don't feel you have enough!
Good Morning Ladies (and few gents),
Today’s devotion included below “When You Feel God Has Called You to More Than You Can Handle” is a reminder from GiG Sharon that like Moses we can, allow our past failures to stand in the way of our future success…our measuring stick gets us stuck because we can see in others qualities that are meaningful, useful to God. Yet, our God-confidence or the God-confidence in others whom we respect is lost, gone, MIA (Missing In Action).
GiG, I enthusiastically agree with Sharon in that “the question Moses asked is one of the most important questions you will ever ask because your answer will affect the way you look at life, tackle your troubles and frame your circumstances. The answer to that question will determine your destiny.”
As most of you know, I truly enjoy teaching two courses by Pastor Pete Scazzero: Emotionally Healthy Spirituality and Emotionally Healthy Relationships. I am currently in the process of completing training as a facilitator for what I’ve dubbed the trifecta of programming by Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott.
God often reveals an instruction to me in three’s because that’s often what it takes for me to move. See, I’m often slow on the uptake and it takes the third prompt to get me from indecision to action. OUCH! Not proud of that, but so far it’s been working between God and me.
GiG, I will soon complete certification as a SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) facilitator, which will allow me to administer a Christ-centered on-line assessment to pre-engaged, engaged, and married couples. This assessment is part of a comprehensive marriage program designed specifically for today's couples. Without fail, God has answered my prayer for an opportunity that Darrell and I can participate in together—Marriage Mentors. However, He’s stretching me way beyond my comfort zone in the process.
Why do I share this? So you will pray for us and what God is doing because in all honesty, I don’t even know the magnitude of this venture, but we’re proceeding, trusting the God we serve to move hearts, minds as only He can. God has planted the desire, provided the finances to the penny, and now the time, so move on it we are. After all, marriages are under attack like never before in our history.
As Darrell and I continue to maintain a strong desire and an energetic quest to live lives of obedience, live lives of purpose, and with the energy that draws us nearer to the Savior that rescued us from sin’s captivity and set us free, we so want others to experience a life of healthy relationships too. Relationships that model trust, unity, and respect that celebrate the strengths we each bring to the relationship without being threatened by them for starters. Relationships in where the finances are focused upon God’s will, His work, and not on self.
Yes, God is calling us to something risky because we’ll have to roll up our sleeves and step outside our comfort zones. We’ll be helping others (maybe people we don’t even know) protect and/or save their marriages; but with the Holy Spirit leading us, this training equipping us, and people praying for us, it isn’t beyond our abilities, temperament, or the focus He’s given us.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
GiG, we’re all encouraged by a leader who stirs in us to move ahead, someone who believes we can do the task that’s been given and who will be with us all the way. God is that kind of leader. He knows the future, and his plans for us are good and full of hope.
What is God stirring in you to do? Be encouraged in knowing that as long as God, who knows the future, provides your agenda and goes with you as you fulfill His mission, you can have boundless hope.
God’s Got It…so have FAITH—The opposite of faith is not doubt; the opposite of faith is disobedience. OUCH or Amen!
Have a “More Than” Thursday, July 26, 2018—God sees, hears, and is concerned…go on, walk by faith not by sight.
Called to serve and encouraging others to thrive,
DEA
