Let them Rule and Dominate.
Let Them Rule and Dominate the Earth…. By LaKisha M. Johnson
Series: From Boys to Men
Proverbs 22:6, “ Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
I remember this popular nursery rhyme as I was growing up:
What are little boys made of?
What are little boys made of?
Snips and snails
And puppy-dogs' tails
That's what little boys are made of
The second part of the rhyme told us what little girls were made of, I don’t think until I began to raise son’s did I realize the significance of this rhyme. It was giving us an early glimpse of the unique distinction between boys and girls. Not saying that girls can’t be what they want, but recognizing that God created us in his image (Genesis 1:27) to be uniquely set apart. There is a divine energy that God has given boys to rule and dominate the earth, and we as mom’s have to allow them to do that. I used to think protecting my boys from everything was the way to go, and then I realized I was actually frustrating their need to explore and become who God designed them to be. There was freedom in letting go, I learned that in the freedom to let go, they would figure out their limitations and they would learn their strengths. Little boys are made, exactly how God created them to be to rule and have dominion in this earth (Genesis 1:26).
Prayer: Father, forgive me for any time I have exasperated my children. That is not your will, give me wisdom and insight to help my sons becomes the Kings you created them to be, to rule this earth. In Jesus Name. Amen
