What's Not the Mind of Christ!

What’s Not The Mind of Christ by LaKisha M. Johnson

Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

For way too long, we have operated in the wrong “mind sets”. Thought processes and thinking that do not align with that of Christ. Our thoughts embedded with culture and many of our life’s experiences that continuously guide us, but are they guiding you right? When I first started writing this, I was going to write about what the mind of Christ looked like, instead the Holy Spirit led me to write, what isn’t the mind of Christ. God gave us simple instructions to live a “winning” life, and it isn’t difficult as we think, however we do have to identify what’s ours and what’s not Christ. Isaiah 55: 8, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, my ways higher than your ways." So this “stinking thinking” we have is not from God. Below is a list and it is not inclusive to what is not the mind of Christ. If you find yourself thinking this way, you have to renew your mind with the Word of God, so that you can victoriously experience God and get in your position in the kingdom.

What’s Not the Mind of Christ?

It is not worried or anxious (Matthew 6:25-27 and Philippians 4:6-7)

It isn’t mad or in strife (Proverbs 10:12)

It isn’t in doubt (James 1:5-8)

It isn’t in hate (1 Peter 4:8)

It isn’t evil (Proverbs 6:18)

It isn’t proud (Romans 12:16)

If you want to know if you are operating in the mind of Christ, you need to ask yourself is what I’m thinking; honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report (Philippians 4:8) ? Does it have a praise associated with it? Remember your enemy is roaming around seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8), the first place he starts with is your mind, he wants you constantly living in “stinking thinking”, so that you can’t and won’t live life victoriously with the mind of Christ.

Prayer; Lord help us to discern the mind of Christ, and our natural minds that our filled with worry, doubt, strife, hatred, evil and pride. Holy Spirit help us to abandon that mindset so that we can walk fully into what God has for us, victorious living. We want to be renewed in you so that we can make impact for your glory. In Jesus Name. Amen
